Toy Game #3: Five Crowns
- Price: $14.99
- Product Description: “Five Crowns is a card game for the whole family. It has firstborn game play, but uses accomplishments that you have received from playing your old favorites like hearts, spades and rummy. Because Five Crowns has five Royal Families – the Stars, the Clubs, the Hearts, the Spades and the Diamonds – yes, five suits in the old usage, it allows a more equivalent probability of making a book or a run, efficaciously giving each player more future prospects or potentials to readjust their hand so as to go out. Good players are capable to take vantage of this and win more than an intermediate number of games. The play starts with three cards and 3s are wild; next hand has four cards and 4s are wild….working up to the last hand when Kings are wild. Each of the royal families is portrayed in firstborn art and has it is own colors. The Renaissance designs result in cards that are pretty to hold in your hand and give a “collector” feel to the game. Five Crowns is a fast paced, ingenuous new game in eleven rounds. You may be winning, but before coveting the winner’s crown, beware…”THE GAME ISN’T OVER ‘TIL THE KINGS GO WILD!” For 2 to 7 players.

Fun way to pass the time… By A I’ve always loved yahtzee, and this particular game is both easy to use and a lot of fun. And it’s so easy to carry anywhere – I’ve played while waiting for dinner to cook, on the subway, in the car… any place I end up waiting. It’s incredibly durable was well – in fact, I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it’s held up, particularly considering my lack of coordination and the fact that I may have dropped it, oh, once or twice or… many more times.
For anyone who likes yahtzee, who likes games and/or who gets bored having to wait, this is the solution! You can take it with you for a fun, easy, entertaining game that will help pass the time in an enjoyable way. The only problem is that it’s quite addictive….

No Dice to Loose! By A This is a great game! I carry my Yahtzee with me in my purse so that I’m not trapped with nothing to do in long lines or waiting in the doctor’s office. Being able to turn off the sound is an excellent feature so that you are not annoying others in the area. In fact this is a feature that I look for when purchasing a hand held game either for myself of someone else. It is compact but don’t let it’s size fool you! The screen is easy to read. The printout very bold and bright. The automatic shut-down feature is great since you won’t wear out the batteries. This hand held game is also easy on batteries. The game is easy to figure out and all of the controls are clearly labeled. The buttons are spaced nicely so there is no accidental pressing of the wrong button. It is a great game for the individual and that would be its only real negative. Like the real version of Yahtzee you play in teams with each player taking a turn. This hand held version is a one player game. I think that this is such a teriffic game that I recently game one to my nephew while he is in the hospital.

Ever yell Yahtzee on a crowded plane? By cookieman108 My grandmother gave this to me for a Christmas gift, and it’s quite addictive. The game plays just like Yahtzee and is very easy to learn. It’s very durable, and turns itself off after a short time of inactivity, to conserve the battery. I did manage to rack a score of 526, to which my grandmother claimed she got over six hundred, to which I said she was a lying sack. (I was just teasing her, as I know she is a very honest woman and I am sure she got me the game after she got over 600 points on her game just to watch me try and beat her score, knowing I probably wouldn’t.)
Anyway, a couple of nice features is the game displays the score, if any, of the current dice configuration as you move across the screen to decide where to best put your roll total. The game also allows you to turn the sound off as the noise of the electronic dice ‘rolling’ does become annoying after awhile. And the game will save the highest score in memory for as long as the single AAA battery lasts.
